Terms of service

Effective July 16, 2026

Agreement and contact

These Terms govern access to the MailDNS public diagnostics, authenticated monitoring, reports, APIs, and paid subscriptions. By creating an account, you accept version 2026-07-16 of these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Notice.

MailDNS provides this service under the MailDNS name. Questions and legal notices may be sent to [email protected].

Accounts and authority

You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly remove access that is no longer authorized. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and workspace.

You may monitor domains, inspect messages, import reports, and run transport probes only when you own the relevant systems or have clear authorization from the owner. You must not upload third-party message content or personal data without a lawful basis and permission.

Service scope and honest limits

MailDNS observes public DNS configuration, submitted aggregate reports, and controlled transport probes. A passing result does not guarantee inbox placement, sender reputation, delivery, compliance, or identical behavior by every receiver. Guidance is technical evidence, not legal, accounting, or professional deliverability advice.

Acceptable use

You must not use MailDNS to:

  • probe private networks or systems without authorization;
  • send spam, malware, phishing, or abusive traffic;
  • evade rate limits, access controls, or plan restrictions;
  • reverse engineer secrets or interfere with other tenants;
  • resell access in a misleading or unlawful manner; or
  • violate applicable law or third-party rights.

Plans, billing, taxes, and renewal

Plan limits, currency, billing interval, and the final total are shown before you confirm PayPal's hosted subscription checkout. Paid plans renew automatically for the selected interval until canceled. Applicable taxes or provider charges, if any, are disclosed before confirmation. You authorize the payment provider to charge the selected payment method for recurring fees and disclosed taxes.

Usage above a stated limit is not silently billed as an overage. MailDNS may pause new monitoring or normalization while preserving existing evidence according to the plan's retention policy.

Cancellation and refunds

Stripe subscriptions are managed through Stripe's hosted portal; PayPal subscriptions can be canceled from the explicit action in MailDNS. The cancellation screen states whether provider cancellation is immediate or takes effect at period end, and local entitlements change only after a verified provider event. Except where mandatory law requires otherwise or a duplicate or incorrect charge occurred, subscription fees already charged are non-refundable. Send billing disputes promptly to [email protected]. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.

Your data and licenses

You retain ownership of data you submit. You grant MailDNS a limited, non-exclusive license to host, parse, transform, and transmit that data only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service. You remain responsible for the legality and accuracy of submitted data.

MailDNS intellectual property

The service, software, design, documentation, and brand are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. These Terms grant a limited, revocable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership. Open-source components remain subject to their own licenses.

Suspension and termination

Access may be limited or suspended to contain security threats, unlawful use, non-payment, material plan abuse, or harm to the service or others. When practical, MailDNS will provide notice and a chance to cure. You may stop using the service and request account deletion; billing, security, and legal records may remain for the periods described in the Privacy Notice.

Availability and third-party services

Monitoring depends on DNS resolvers, networks, certificate authorities, email receivers, hosting, and payment systems outside MailDNS's control. The service may change to address standards, security, or provider requirements. Planned maintenance is communicated when practical, but uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed.

Disclaimers and liability cap

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or a guaranteed delivery outcome. Do not make a high-impact DNS change without reviewing the preview and your provider's rollback path.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the greater of US$100 or the fees you paid for MailDNS during the three months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses where such an exclusion is lawful. These limits do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify MailDNS against third-party claims caused by your unlawful use, unauthorized monitoring, submitted content, or material breach of these Terms. This obligation does not cover claims caused by MailDNS's own unlawful conduct.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Dominican Republic, without displacing mandatory consumer protections. Before filing a claim, contact [email protected] and allow 30 days for an informal resolution, unless urgent relief or applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes and contact

Material changes will be dated and, when they reduce existing rights or require renewed consent, presented in the product or by email. Continued use after the effective date remains subject to applicable notice and consent requirements. See the Privacy Notice or contact [email protected].
